Citigroup Asset Management
Citigroup Asset Management provides investment management and related services to a broad spectrum of clients around the world. Citigroup Asset Management includes mutual funds, managed accounts, and private and institutional portfolios catering to the needs of every class of investor.
On June 24, 2005, Citigroup announced that it signed a definitive agreement under which it will sell substantially all of its Asset Management business in exchange for the broker-dealer business of Legg Mason, Inc., approximately $1.5 billion of Legg Mason''s common and convertible preferred shares, and approximately $550 million in the form of a five-year loan facility provided by Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking. The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter subject to certain regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Citigroup Alternative Investments delivers a broad offering of alternative investments, including hedge funds, credit structures, private equity, real estate, and other private placement and special investment opportunities.
